Arianna Hawkins, preferably called Jahn is a 22 years old black autistic woman, clothing designer, model, and entrepreneur with her own fashion brand, J.A.H.N. Jahn also works a full-time job at a retail store while managing her fashion career, personal goals, and mental health. As a disabled autistic woman, Jahn deals with a functional neurological disorder, a condition that stems from growing up in a dysfunctional household. Through the lack of her parents’ support, Jahn was a victim of abuse as a child during crucial years of her brain development, which made her brain unable to send and receive signals properly. Due to her disability, Jahn suffers from seizures that make the muscles of her body spasm and go numb. Before being diagnosed, Jahn was kicked out of her mother’s house in 2020. At that time Jahn was admitted into a community college to play basketball and while majoring in pre-law focused on African American studies. “I thought that was my way out,” Jahn said. However, Jahn started having seizures and could no longer play. “I think when I was finally in a safe place and my brain had time to process all the trauma that I had.” Following she decided to drop out of college and start investing in her modeling career. “My parents weren't happy about it, they thought I was giving up, but I knew it wasn’t good for me and I couldn’t waste more time with it.” Now, diagnosed Jahns takes her mental and physical health seriously, she goes to therapy weekly and she is supported by her friends and her cats Kyba and Buddha.
